Food and Drink (Semi-self-sufficiency)

This race operates on a principle of semi-self-sufficiency. You are responsible for carrying the nutrition and hydration needed between aid stations.

  • Water: The course provides numerous opportunities to refill fresh mountain water from streams (use your own cup/flask).

  • Aid Stations: Will supplement with sport drinks, Cola, water, potato chips, chocolate, gummy candy, bananas, and warm broth (for Ultra).

  • Dropbag (Ultra only): Ultra runners have a checkpoint halfway at Eidsbugarden with access to a personal dropbag.

Navigation and Marking

  • 12k, 16k, 21k, and 42k: Fully marked from start to finish with orange event flags or signs. (A GPX file is still highly recommended for the Marathon as a backup).

  • Ultra (73k): Unmarked course. Participants must follow established DNT trails. Mandatory GPS navigation using the official GPX file is required.

Emergencies, DNF, and Cut-off Times

For life-threatening emergencies, call 113. For minor injuries, call the Red Cross (number on the back of your bib). If you lack mobile coverage, use your whistle/blanket and ask passing runners to report the emergency at the next point. Trekking poles are allowed but can only be picked up or left at official aid stations.

Cut-off times (Ultra only):

  • CP1 Eidsbugarden (approx. 38 km): Latest arrival time 14:45 (2:45 PM). Latest departure time 15:00.

  • CP2 Torfinnsbu (approx. 58 km): Latest arrival time 20:30 (8:30 PM). Runners arriving after the cut-off will not be allowed to continue for safety reasons. You must register as DNF by scanning the QR code on your bib.
